Jack,

I had the Genny with the Hunky Dory. I liked it, mostly. It gave me more
driving power. I fashioned a genny pole from a bamboo stick and it really
improved performance downwind, and was quite pretty wing and wing. A
spinnaker would probably do better on both of these counts, but is harder to
control. Downside is that it is difficult to see where you are going as the
Genny foot hugs the deck, and I thought that the clew might be cut a little
too long, it felt like I was getting a little inneficiency from
'back-winding' effects from the last part of the sail. I wouldn't do without
a genoa on the P-19.

PS. I'm going to try a Sea of Cortez sail out of San Carlos next week, any
tips from anyone?
