The 15 I just bought, hull 2216, had the unused jib halyard in place on the
mast. I found that using it to hold the mast until I can fasten the furler
headstay makes it a snap to step the mast single handed, so I want to keep
it on the mast. The problem is I can't get the halyard tied off in a way
that the furler's Halyard top fitting doesn't catch and wrap the unused jib
halyard when unfurling the jib. I suspect others use the other wise unused
jib halyard in this way---how do you keep it out of the way of the furler
halyard top fitting? Owen Shaw
