It means that the panels will radiate from the corners in a sorta fan-shape.
Its a method for keeping the strongest axes of the sailcloth in line with
the forces no the sail, enabling a lighter weight of cloth to be used, or a
stronger overall sail.

It also happens to make for a very pretty sail given tasteful choices for
color. Most spinnakers have a radial head, fewer are totally radially-cut.
