On my trip to Bruno's on the day before the rest of the troops got
there, I sailed Hamada from Three Mile Slough to Bruno's against
the tide, with about a 30 kt. wind behind me . . . . damn good
speed through the water, but VERY slow over the bottom, and
some realy gnarly waves to contend with. Worse part was that the
autopilot wouldn't handle all that wind aft so I had to hand steer the
whole way, and to top it off, I couldn't leave the helm to get down in
the cabin to open a beer . . . . . . . . . Ah, we must all make our
little sacrifices.
