I am trying to learn how to reef my '83 P15. Am confused about how and
where to tie the tack grommet. One Potter owner said to run a line from
a portside mast cleat through the grommet and down to a cleat on
starboard side of mast. But when I do this the gooseneck falls to the
bottom of the mast groove and the boom is so low it will bonk me on the
head.

If I want to keep the boom up high do I just tie a line through the
grommet and around the gooseneck? Seems kind of awkward and I wonder if
the line won't slip aft on the boom. Can't figure out a better way
though.

Would greatly appreciate advice from the experienced Potters on the
list.

Thanks,
