Our letters were the peel and stick kind. I
eventually had very good luck using a hair dryer to
heat them up, after which they peeled off pretty
easily. Then, we used some non-acetone fingernail
polish remover to get the remaining goo off. We tried
Goo Gone (I clean my model train track with it) but it
didn't work as well as the non-acetone fingernail
polish remover). Be careful - I don't know what the
acetone stuff would do, but it might not be pretty!
