Been there, done that more'n couple o'times.

I wear a two strap ski belt when I sail. It's saved my life repeatedly.

I also made a 60 lb dgrbrd for the lil 14 footer and filled mast with can
foam. Not so fast anymore but a lot more difficult to flip.

I remember very well being pissed and unable to right boat. Tis not mast full
of water alone. Tis sails acting like a huge area keel... You have to swim
under and release all sails. (Yeah! right!) I was mad but not mad enough to
go tangle with all those lines waiting to grab me under boat. <BG> A guy in a
jet ski came over, jumped in and helped me right it. Which was not enough as
it takes forever to drain all that water outa it. He came back and towed me
to shore. For which I am always gratefull and more lenient of jet skiers...

Glad it all came out ok... Sorta...
