The wife made the cut using a saber saw with a fine-tooth blade. My nine
year-old crawled through the existing port hatch and held the new hatch
in place when the final two corner cuts were made. Got kids?

When the cut was complete, we discovered we'd placed the opening about two
inches too far forward. We had to shave the foam back a little to get full
use of the opening.
