I don't know about ecological but here's another idea for ballast for the
15......a BATTERY!!! It probably weighs close to what I need and then the
plus is.....LIGHTS & POWER! I can probably stick it in a battery box in
the anchor compartment up front too.
for now, though, since i am sailing on the same reservoir all the time
whose wind usually dies at dusk, i will go with reservoir water ballast.
I'm not sure about the ecological effects here. they drain the whole thing
in October and it is just mud until the end of March so...i dunno.... not
a very natural setting (although quite beautiful).
