We have the same kind of problem at Lake Tahoe. The lake, particularly the
South shore, is becoming infested with a weed called, "Watermilfoil." I am
not positive about the spelling, but that is how it is pronounced:
Water-mill-foil. It is said that it has been brought here by trailer boats
from the East coast. A few of the Potters in last years sail experienced
this insidious weed when it wrapped around their keels, rudders and lower
drives. That was the only way I was able to get ahead of Jerry. It grows as
fast as seaweed.

Another Tahoe note: This is the first season of the ban on most PWC's. What
a difference! The only permitted jet skis are very quiet. There are very
few of them. I spent last weekend on the lake (my first overnighter for the
season)! and saw perhaps two jet skis.

Yet another Tahoe note: Pack your bags and your boat! There is but eight
very short weeks until this year's Tahoe sail!

If this is the first you've heard of it, want more info, directions, cost,
weather forecast (not)! and general plans, please E-mail me and I'll send the
info directly to you.
