Has anyone with the new Nissan 4 Stroke had troubles with the idle speed or
quality? Mine likes to die at slow speeds like when approaching the dock.
I
returned the first motor I bought for this problem and was given a
replacement. This one was better for a while, but is now starting to do the
same thing. Likes to die just when I need it for slow speed control. Seems
like maybe the idle setting is too lean. Any ideas?

Maybe you have:
1. Choke problems
2. Fuel pump problems (unlikely)
3. Too slow an idle speed (sb minimum 800 RPM). (likely)
4. Too much oil backflushing into combustion chambers
5. Placing the motor in storage for more than 30 days without prepping.
6. Coking of combustion chamber.

I would start with putting a fuel stabilizer in the gas can and advancing
idle speed about 100 or 200 rpms. You should mess with idle speed only after
running motor for 10 - 15 minutes to assure choke has openned.
