Butch, When a vessel is documented, that simply means that it is registered
with the U.S. government rather than the state in which you live. It still
must be registered every year, but you dont need C F numbers or the little
sticker. I have a Rawson 30 sloop, and it is documented. I don't believe
small boats do this...or at least, I've never seen that. My vessel has
document numbers routed into a bulkhead down below. I am a new Potter
owner, and I have registered that!! Good luck, Paul (California) ***
