I've heard it said that the two happiest days in a man's life is when he =
buys a boat and when he sells it. I sold my Potter 15 yesterday and =
while I am glad it went to a good home, I surely don't feel like =
yesterday was one of the happiest days in my life. I do feel some =
satisfaction in restoring a Potter to the brilliance of a new one while =
it was in my possession. I think tinkering with the Potter is part of =
what makes owning a Potter so much fun and why there is such a strong =
camaraderie of the people who sail them. =20
I'll probably hang around on the list for a bit longer then unsubscribe. =
But I wanted to thank everyone for answering any questions I had. I =
have enjoyed everyone's candid stories about the ups and downs and =
occasional embarrassments of sailing. I think we can all relate, at =
least I could picture myself in several of those stories, in particular =
the escapades that occur at the launch ramp! =20
I thank the northern California Potter Yachters for letting me advertise =
my boat on their web page. It certainly was effective way of =
advertising. I sold my Potter to a gentleman from Redwood City, CA. If =
he decides to become a member of this list, I hope you welcome him =
aboard. =20
Who knows, maybe someday I'll find myself the owner of another Potter. =
Third times' the charm! Best wishes to everyone in this group and hope =
those who visit Lake Tahoe next month have a great sail. Maybe I'll =
pass by in a kayak. If I do, I'll be sure to stop by and say hi.
