Hey Brian !!!

Great to hear of your thinkings toward a potter! I too, wondered about the
smallness
of the P-15, after I went out into Saratoga Passage on a Catalina 36 for
Whidbey Island Race week.... but after that, I've been much more confident
in my P-15. I truly adore the
little boat. Never having seen a P-19 but in pictures, here's MY input for
you:

P-15 is cuter. Every single time I take it out, at least two people give me
the much heard line among Potterers... "What a cute boat !!"

P-15 is less expensive. No on-board kitchen or head or any other plumbing
or hassles
that I hear the P-19'ers conversing about... many things the P-19'ers need
to deal with, the P-15's are free of !! I grew up on a San Juan 21, with a
kitchen, a head, and camping... and I LOVE the P-15 much more, not having
all that stuff.

I'd say, think about the actual sailing you want to do. Do you WANT to
cruise in the san juan islands, spending more than two nights aboard? Then
definetely go with the 19.
(I've got many 1 and 2 week island cruises under my belt, and I wouldn't do
it in the 15 just because I'd be too cramped.) HOWEVER, do you mainly want
to do "day sailing"
or an overnight camping spree? Then get a P-15, because it will save you a
lot of money, hassle, and you'll adore it like it was your pet. And even
lil 'ol me can step the mast alone with no problem, whether on the trailer
or floating in the water ! Now THAT's
convenient !!

Hope to see you, 15 OR 19, sailing at Whidbey soon !!!
