You would do better to measure the pocket on your sail as they can be
different on each sail.
Hint #2. Wrap a rubber band around one end of the batten and insert that end
into the pocket first. I lost two battens until I started doing that, but
with the rubber bands in place I didn't loose another one.

I've got a 1997 P-19, and just lost the #2 batten (second from the top)
this afternoon. Does anyone have easy access to their mainsail battens to
measure that one and tell me how long it is?
