Just a short note to all the comrades at Tahoe.
First, thanks for a great weekend, My wife and I really enjoyed the
opportunity to meet and be with all of you.
I had intended to stay the night with my daughter in Davis upon our
departure and then stop by San Francisco the next day for a dip before
returning to the Southern California area. However, my plans changed when
Charlene, my daughter requested a ride to Laguna. So, I repacked the boat
(Jerry, there were small traces of water inside the boat and the cushions
were soaked - as you suggest, the pressure on the keel must force water up
and in) and made space in the car for one more. I was a long and slow trip
down the 5 - 55 mile/hr speed limit... But there were 2 high points ( in
addition to the Grapevine), about 2/3 down the Central Valley. Off to the
shoulder of the road, about 5 miles apart, empty and guarded by warning
tapes and plastic pylons, were luggage containers (or carge containers,
don't know the proper term) from American Airlines. They retained their
shape, but showed considerable damage. There existance generated
significant discussion for some time and we posted an airwatch until we
were over the pass.
Any recent AA flyers from L.A. looking for your luggage?
