East Coasties & Web Gang:

The winch mast on my '94 Garges trailer was 8" from the rear edge of the
coupling to the leading edge of the mast as it sits on the tongue. I
measured off 13" from the leading edge of the winch mast to a spot
further down on the tongue. I moved the winch mast and made some
preliminary tongue weigh-ins with two scales. The tongue weight has
gone from the range of 142-151 lbs to somewhere between 55-62 lbs. What
a tremendous difference on my back in moving the boat/trailer around the
yard. I haven't trailered it down the road yet but will report on its
manners when I do.
