Scott,
We did have need for screens along the way. Julie made a
"bonnet" of white screen material which we placed over the forward
vent. It was held in place with elastic. Similarly, she made
a companionway screen of the same material which was held on
top with a shock cord between the two cabin top handles and draped
over the open companionway. She sewed lead sinkers on the bottom
to hold it down. Often we closed the companionway to hold the
heat in or keep the rain or dew out. We had several mornings
when we woke with temperatures in the 40's. There are truly
giant mosquitoes out there, but they seemed most bothersome just
after sunset. Anyway, the screens worked well.
