When I drop the main the bolt rope often jams in the mast slot-so I have

to stand up and pull the bolt rope up and start it out of the opening in
the
slot- dicey in a 20 knot breeze, I'd rather stay seated.

For some reason the bolt rope drops past
the mast slot opening. Not clear why. I do have a sail feeder about two
inches below the opening- but this does not seem like the cause, as the
bolt rope had to already be past the opening to hit the feeder.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to get the bolt rope to come
out the opening as it falls?

Many thanks for any help,
