I recently replaced a very heavy Mercury 4HP with a very light Nissan
3.5(with neutral), 29lbs. I've used the Nissan 3.5 on another boat for a
couple of years. It's a simple and VERY reliable motor, easy to start, fuel
efficient, and has PLENTY of power for a P15.

Hello All

I am expecting my boat (P15) to show up in a 4 to 7 days !!! And I
have still not picked a motor ! I have received advice from some of
you regarding the needed power for a P15 and so I am choosing a 2
Stroke, 3.5 Horse Power engine.

The choices are ...
Mariner 3.5 HP @ 28 LBS ...$599.00 !!
Mercury 3.5 (I realize that the engine is the same japenese motor)
or Nissan 3.5 .. there is word that they are coming out with a 4 HP, 4
Stroke ?

Does anyone use a Mariner or Merc ? And do you like them ?

Thanks again
