Hi,

Today on my first P15 sail I took along my Honda 2 HP
4 stroke Honda motor and was not pleased with this aspect of
the experience. I'm sure this is a great motor as motors go
(if it weren't currently broken). But I now think that even
2 HP is too big for a P15. This motor happens to be broken
and would quit unless I ran it at the slowest possible speed.
Yet even at the slowest possible speed, it moved us right
along. Nobody wants to fool with a motor when sailing, and
it adds weight in the worst possible location, so why wouldn't
an even smaller motor be better?

Secondly, the motor mount does not allow this short shaft
motor to be raised high enough. The prop drags through the
water. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Thirdly, you must remove the rudder to run the motor.
Or am I mistaken here?

Mike
