Tom Grimes commented on using, small, inexpensive components on the
Potters rather than the more expensive stuff made for larger boats.
Like Tom I managed to put together a Boom Vang for my 19 for about
$35. I think is looks better than some of the larger more expensive
stuff and seems to work quite well in my application. ....but I am a
fair weather boater and tend to switch to the Iron Wind whenever things
start to get out of hand. The more serious sailors might be more
comfortable with something less apt to fail in a critical moment. I

The fact that I just bought a new digital camera has little (....well
