On our 1985 P19, I just undo the nut that attaches the cable to thebolt on
the keel, un-lead it through the blocks and secure it to the cheek block on
the cabin ceiling at the corner of the companionway. I take up the slack on
the winch lightly.
That's all there is to it on my boat. One nut . (maybe 2 if you count me : )
