I'm not sure what you used as an agent but the "manual" (such as it is)
that I got with my used P19 suggests acetone. I used generic nail polish
remover, which is largely acetone, and although it didn't achieve like-new
results, the results were acceptable, it was cheap, and it was relatively
easy. I think if I were to do it again I'd use nail polish remover but
would try a fine steel wool (only on the rub rail, not on gelcoat!) instead
of a cotton rag.
