Greetings All:

I have an 8 hp Honda for my P-19. I purchased this motor on the
recommendation of another P-19 sailor who lives in Barrie, Ontario. I
sometimes think that this motor is a bit big for the boat primarily when I am
moving it from the back of my truck to the transom during launching. The
motor weighs about 80 pounds, runs flawlessly and doesn't seem to
affect the sailing ability of the boat. Half throttle gets us going about as
fast as the boat will go. There have been a couple of times when
conditions got rough, with wind and waves, that I was happy for the
power provided by the eight horse.

On another note, I wrote an article for the Canadian Power and Sail
magazine "Port Hole." This magazine is carried inside of "Today's
Boating" a Canadian magazine which is primarily about power boats. The
article is about a trip on Lake Superior in 1998 and has a couple of nice
pictures of my P-19. National coverage (in Canada) for the West Wight
Potter!!
