<< Hi all
Anyone have any experience with prop guards or know where to get one for the
5 hp Nissan outboard.

Noticed several states considering making them manditory for safety(good
idea)....might also save the rudder some scars when the skipper is forgetful
:-)

I tried Prop Guard, used too much gas with it, did not work as advertised
(surprised?) and threw it away. IT had a tendency to pull garbage thru prop
and damage it or jam prop, increased underwater drag, increased fuel
consumption, did not really prevent accidents as it could pull a childs hands
thru slot and cuts it to pieces..

I also tried EZ Steer. Took it off and opted for an extra pair of gudgeons to
hold mast without removing rudder and locked motor in place.

Of course manufacturer's love all these "funky" products and claim they are a
godsend.
