Timely comment about Message In A Bottle. I enjoyed the movie to a point and
then I found the credibility to be lacking. What kind of single handed
sailor would dive from his boat in a raging sea in an attempt to save a soul.
Let's get real. A good sailor would use his wit and resources to be more
effectual without jeopardizing getting separated from his ship.

It reminded me of another less that nautical tale called Dead Calm. In this
tinsel town folly, the less than savvy sailor rows from his yatch to a
distressed boat in the middle of an ocean. Why wouldn't he simply raft with
the vessel. You never know when the wind or circumstance will separate you
from your boat.

Message In A Bottle was a tragedy when he christened the boat after his dead
wife instead of his new found friend and love. Too bad. It could have been a
happy sailing adventure.
