I don't want a design replica of a P-19. I do want a larger boat that
adheres to the same philosphy - easy to trailer and launch, beachable,
stable, good stowage space. I want a 6-7 foot cockpit and enough room
below to sleep four. An enclosed head would be nice. I don't really want
much more headroom below - I'm 6' 2" and having the headroom to stand
would make for some high freeboard in a 24-footer, so I'll go with a
few more inches than the P-19 and maybe have a nicer looking profile.

The Freedom 24, now out of production, had an interesting cabin layout
using a full-height daggerboard trunk as the centerline bulkhead for
a head compartment. That would get the trunk out of the way, but keeping
space for a galley, eating space and berth space is an interesting design
problem. I'm more thinking about the exterior design though, since that
needs to come first.
