Hi Web gang!
Although we have not YET bought a Potter 15 I feel as though I've
gotten to know you all in the last month or two because of joining this
site.
I've learned so much about Potters and sailing in general that I thought
it
was time you got to learn a little about me.
We live in CT near the shoreline so finding a place to sail is no
problem.
I learned to sail a Sunfish about 6 years ago and got pretty good at it.
This year I wanted something a little bigger for the family and bought a
used CL14. It's a nice boat and seemed to fill the need for a small
family
(at a price I couldn't refuse) but...
This spring I called IM in California and asked them if there were any
Potters in CT. They said there were 6. 4-P15 & 2-P19. They also gave me
some phone numbers I could try. Well, it turns out a young family lives
not 35 minutes from our home with a P15 and they were more than happy to
let us come over one Sunday afternoon to see theirs! After 45 minutes we
felt
like old friends and they said if we ever get one they would be glad to
get together to sail. I'm not too picky about a used Potter. Our price
range is $2100-$2600 give or take. A 1986-1989 seems to be right for us.
(I missed a mint cond 1986 for $2400 in NJ early this summer and I'm
still sick over it.)I would be willing to drive to CT, NJ, NY, MA, or RI
so.... If you hear of one, feel free to e-mail me at (mrcisto@snet.net)
anytime.
Thank, and I hope it's a SHORT winter! Mark
