I received a filthy email tonight describing some XXX websites and
related. The address it came from is a member of the Webgang, someone I
know, and I know for a fact that they did not send it. The very next
email I received was a "bounce" from my provider, saying that they could
not send the email I had "apparently" sent. My email? It was the very
same email that was sent to me from "supposedly" a webgang member.
Obviously something is awry here.
I have reported all of this to my provider and forwarded copies of both
notes to them. I am writing to all of you because I fear that if I
received this smut, then it is very likely that other members have as
well, both webgang and ECPA, and I don't want anyone getting hard
feelings because some joe on the list sent them a bunch of smut and
garbage... I knew as soon as I saw this crap that it was not from the
email address that was being indicated.
