I have always used a 4 lb. Danforth original (not a knockoff - they don't
seem to work as well ) as a second anchor on both my 20' powerboat and my
P19. In sand it sticks like glue and sometimes is used as primary anchor. In
muck it digs in real good and holds excellent. In the concrete that passes
for a bottom in the FL keys I use 4' of heavy chain attached to it and seems
to work ok though not as great as on sand or mud. It is hard to penetrate
that concrete bottom in some areas of Fl Keys.
