Please specify if your potter is a 15, 14, 18 or 19 and what year if you
know that will help us fgure out what's going on in the future...

I had a similar experience on my 1988 p-15 with the drain. I measured the
diameter of the hole and got the largest diameter thru-hull plastic
fitting i could find. on the 15 the drain is above water-line so you can
use silicon caulk around the fitting. I applied caulk to the fitting where
it contacted the transom on all faces and tightened it on.

unless the wood core seems spongy or discolored just make sure everything
is dry before you put the thru hull on.

I keep my 15 in the garage because.....it stays dry that way and unlike a
bigger boat it CAN fit in the garage!!!!
