There are thus 2 switches and 2 lights. (The running light switch powers 2
additional lights: bow and stern.) What does a wiring diagram for these
circuits look like? What would the hard wiring look like?
Side light. The Catch 22 (21' keel boat) in Osaka has built in wiring, of
course. Most of these smaller weekend boats (19'-26') use motorcycle
batteries. We pull them out and take then home to recharge them. When
they are totally dead they are tossed -frequently, literally tossed by the
roadside! (as are wrecked or stolen cars and motorscooters...)

I would wire the bow light on one fuse and switch and the masthead or stern
light on a second fuse and switch. That would allow running masthead at
anchor withour running bow (red/green) light. You can put a cig light socket
in cabin and another in cockpit close th motor. That way if you decide to get
a motor with alternator you can put a cig light plug on pigtails and charge
batt from cockpit.
