This radio got the best rating of six submersible hand held VHF radios by Sea
Kayaker (magazine). Some of the reasons are that it has large Channel
Display and ease of use in cold weather when you are wearing gloves. Weather
and water are petty stinky when I use the radio. Plus I kayak. And yes, it
is expensive. I didn't want to take a chance of having equipment failure
due to water damage.
