My '87 is the same way. If I understand Potter history accurately, older
boats than ours had a separately built centerboard trunk that was
subsequently glassed into the hull. If you look into the bilge with a
flashlight, I think you will agree with me that the trunk and hull are molded
as one piece on the later boats.. My speculation is that the "seams" visible
in the gelcoat are a result of the modifications made to the hull mold as the
P-15 design evolved.

If you are worried about cracks, try putting some water in the bilge and then
crawl underneath and look for water dripping out.

Hi folks!

I've noticed that the gelcoat right next to the slot for the cb on my '88
p-15 is kinda rough.....i'm hoping it isn't some sort of structural crack.
Seems like it never came out smooth to begin with. unfortaunately the
trailer really gets in the way so once i figure out how to suspend the
boat off the trailer i may get a better look...

anybody have similar experiences? Thanks!
