Almost lost HA`PENNY`s Kick-up rudder on a very 'choppy' day on the
Potomac; bottom pintle came out of bottom gudgeon; had to take the rudder
on board as I couldn`t reset the rudder in the chop under sail(was worried
that while I got the sails down I might lose the rudder). Fixed the
problen by fitting a copper sleeve over the top pintle between the bottom
of the gudgeon and the 'hitchpin' .
