As a child that grew up on the water... I have found that my countrified
husband has taken to the P-15 like the proverbial duck, etc. While we have
not slept a night on PyroTech, mostly taking the grandkids on daysailing
excursions, it would be perfect cozy for us as we are both under 5' 7" in
height, though I am quite a bit broader in the beam than he is. He has
crawled around a lot inside when he was refurbishing it, and while we saw a
P-19 the other day at the boat yard by Tempe Lake in the Phoenix area, he
still likes our potter--he does want to see about putting the forward
railing up, and to take a look at maybe a bimini--but for the most part we
have enjoyed the speed and ease of launch, maintenance, etc. that comes with
the 15.
OBW you have to understand that he was a ski boat kind of guy, and my first
foray to introduce him into sailing was in a 14' racer that had rigging
problems (not too mention the rusty "nut" on the tiller) and as a result
dumped him, the rusty "nut" and grand daughter into the lake on Memorial Day
2 years ago. PyroTech was purchased about 3 weeks later as a used and abused
project--Randy made her shine and I named her for him--kind of a turn about
I guess, but he still calls me the "skipper"
