I doubt if the difference between towing a P15 and an M15 would be
significant. My early P14 is heavier than the new ones, so I estimate the
boat/trailer combination is about 1000 lb.

Does your Toyota RV happen to be a Chinook? My Chinook is very slow on
mountain grades with or without the Potter behind it. I towed the Potter up
to Lake Tahoe a couple of years ago with the Chinook. I just shift down and
crawl up the truck lane with the big rigs. My 75 Chinook is based on a
Toyota Hi-Lux pickup long-bed chassis with the 20R engine.
