Brent, Thanks for the note on the floatation panels. They seem like an ideal
solution. K-Mart and others carry backpacking closed cell foam mattresses
approximately 1/2" thick and very flexible that could be sewn with a little
nylon cloth to form panels for small boats. A square foot of double thickness
(each side of the sail) should give about 5 # of floatation if my rough
calculations are correct. A square foot of four thicknesses or 2 square feet
of double thickness might do for the P15.

Brent's note:

Check out the web site at www.sequelsails.com/SS_Pages/flotpanel.html. It

shows a floatation panel that is slipped over the sail and the halyard is

connected through both. They make them for any boat and it does not require

modifying the sail.
