You analyze correctly, Eric. There was a giant discussion -- and some
mathematical exploration -- of this topic a few silly seasons ago. Consensus
was that it's just too risky to do significant trailering with the motor
mounted; the 5 minutes saved isn't worth the risk. There are, of course,
those who will disagree ... and most will probably get away with it. All
will not. In fact, as you note, all *have* not.

If you must trailer with OB mounted, damping the motion (I recommend heavy
rubber bungees rather than nylon line) can add a measure of safety by
lowering the magnitude of forces due to acceleration and deceleration.
