Kevlar possible for beaching wear

When this thread started I did not realize it was such a general problem.
Almost all canoeing shops sell a kevlar repair kit for bow and stern of ABS
canoe hulls. Two strips about 4" wide and 2 to 3 foot long with necessary
epoxy and instructions. Extremely durable but the kevlar can't be sanded and
will remain somewhat rough and raised at the edges. Since weight is not
important, on the Potters it could be made more smooth with excess epoxy or
even filled epoxy.

The kit is usually about 40 dollars and they should have repaired boats to
inspect.
