Karl -

I often sail with four people in my P15, but two are children. Even with
their smaller size, I think 4 is too many for the cockpit for most
situations. With any more than two adults in the cockpit it is difficult to
handle the main and jib sheets (someone is guaranteed to be sitting or
standing on them), and tiller movement is restricted. Raising/lowering
sails, tacking/gybing, and docking are scenarios in which I generally send
the kids to the cabin. Without putting people in the cabin, the P15 isn't a
four person boat.

     Questions for P15 Owners:

International Marine says (in brochure) that the P15 cockpit seats 4.

     1. What is the average number of people you typically sail with on
     your P15?
     2. How many people (adults) would you consider too many for comfort
     or safety?
     3. How long would you sail a P15 with 4 adults on board?

     Thanks!
