Actually, a lot of P-15 sailors have used 1 qt. plastic empties,
over the years, partly because when a little 2HP sputters to a
halt, it only takes a quart to top one up.. and the one quart bottle
minimizes the leaning
over the transom with the next wave coming at you-oh-my- god
I-don't want sea-water in the gasoline-syndrome.
Sea-gull used to sell a steel bottle with a rubber tube from a spout
in the cap and a handle on the bottom, which enabled you to stick
the rubber spout in the fuel opening, and invert the bottle, holding
it by a handle on the bottom... sort of like giving the engine an
I.V. drip... I think it was a wonderful bilious green enamel painted..
