Remember I also moved my 50 lb series 29 battery under the fwd berth. Boat
trim also affects it's ability to handle various wind pressures.

When you move top of mast you also change the focal point of effort from
sails upon boat. moving tip forward moves center of effort forward of keel.
This in turn causes boat to have lesser weather helm (tendency to head into
wind as wind speed increases).

It is a bit more complex to explain and my fingers do not allow extended
typing.
