I'm dissatisfied with the design and strength of my gooseneck, actually,
just the sail tack shackle part. My shackle is an inverse u shaped part
that is attached to the gooseneck via a vertical pin through the closed
end of the u. When the sail foot is tensioned, the shackle twists and
bends. Does anyone have a better system that I can cobble up?
I have two thoughts:
1. make a new u shackle out of much thicker SS.
2. Weld a horizontal u shackle to the back side of the lower half of
the track slide part of the gooseneck.
