        Instead of cutting up a trailer and installing an extension,
consider having a front mounted receiver hitch installed. Use a 2" X 2" X
24" steel tube with a ball to hook up. You can see what you're doing, your
rear wheels remain out of the water for maximum traction and it elimnates a
sore neck! Also, you can use this setup to jockey the boat into a tight
storage place at home. I have a Cherokee with this setup and I also use the
front reciver hitch for a mounting point for a 6000 lbs winch.
