I have been experimenting with a compass mounted on a thin board that fits
in the slot for the hatch. It seems to provide good placement, and is fairly
visible. The down side is that you have to choose between the hatch and the
compass, and it makes it a bit harder to enter the cabin when it is in
place. I haven't given it too much use since my sense of direction is more
accurate than the cheapo compass I picked up, and I don't generally sail in
night/fog etc...

I know it's not as interesting as capsizing, but I asked for P-15 help on
compass selection and placement last week and if it wasn't for one nice P-19
I'd have gotten no response at all. Forget the capsizes please, somebody
tell me what a really good compass solution is.
