[WWP] pendant

The 3" pendant is nothing more that three links of 1" chain that was laying
around. The chain I used was off of some old tire chains and does not kink.
It's attatched to the bow plate with a shackle and I used another shackle to
attatch a small swivel bail for the jib tack. With the shackles, I actually
picked up 4" + so that the genoa clears the cleats/vent horn without a problem.

I'm a great proponent of solid core fast pins. However, there are some 1/4"
roll pins with a locking bail available at farm implement stores and RV
supply houses. They're heat-treated and cost a buck a piece. I also use
mountain climbing carbiners to attatch the anchor rode to the chain for easy
storage. The $10.00 carbiner has a 20,000 pound load breaking point.
