FWIW my 1988 potter (#461) has no pads, but does have sheet winches. I use
them for hanging fenders, tying lines, and the hole in the top for the
handle makes a fine cigar holder. But I sure haven't needed to use 'em for
sheets. I'm thinking of moving 'em to cabintop to use on the halyards.
