The new P19's have 32 cubic feet of foam. That's approximately enough to
keep 2000 pounds afloat in salt water at 64 pounds per cubic foot of water.
With the displacment volume of the boat structure added in, it's probably
enough to float 2500 pounds. (you have to net out the weight of the foam,
add in the displacement of the glass, keel, wood core, etc, to come up with
an exact figure.)

The foam fills the front of the v-berth, under the quarter berths, and the
enclosed section under the cockpit. On my boat, I measured all the foam to
figure out the volume, and ended up taking a little bit out from under the
v-berth to get it down to about 32 cubic feet. My boat didn't have fancy
2-part foam , just big blocks of styofoam, which was easy to remove and
repack.

Alan and all - Looking at what I can see in the P-19 I think it is kinda
skimpy, especially if the thing is really loaded up with cruising gear. I
think adding additional foam under the quarter births would be a good idea.
